The Lombok strait connects the Indian Ocean with the Sea of Bali. It is one of the most important maritime trade routes in Southeast Asia. The strait is 60 km long and 19 to 40 km wide. Along the coastline leads a narrow street which is best explored on a motor bike. Between Amplapura and Amed the street is hilly.
